Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings is located on the west bank of the Nile River, opposite the city of Luxor. It was used as a royal burial ground for Pharaohs and their consorts during the New Kingdom period. The valley is home to 63 tombs, including the tomb of Tutankhamun.
