Overview
This 3-day adventure from Istanbul takes you deep into Cappadocia's northern and southern valleys, where wind-carved fairy chimneys, rock-cut churches and hidden underground cities reveal centuries of history. You'll explore Devrent, Pasabag, Zelve and Uchisar, walk through the Rose Valley, and spend a night in an atmospheric cave hotel.
From there, an overnight coach carries you to Pamukkale, home to the gleaming Cotton Castle terraces and the sprawling ancient city of Hierapolis. Wander the Necropolis, Roman Baths and Theatre, then stroll the warm travertines barefoot before flying back to Istanbul.
With domestic flights, guided touring and entrance fees included, this trip suits travellers who want to see Turkey's headline wonders efficiently, without the stress of planning logistics themselves.

Day 1: Flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia and North Cappadocia Tour
An early start today. You’ll be collected from your Istanbul hotel in the small hours and driven to the domestic airport for your morning flight across to Kayseri or Nevsehir. Once you land, a driver will be waiting to take you into Cappadocia, where you’ll meet your licensed guide and get straight into a full day exploring the northern valleys.
You begin at Devrent Valley, where the wind and rain have shaped the rock into odd, animal-like fairy chimneys. From there it’s on to Pasabag Valley, also called Monks Valley, known for its tall mushroom-capped pinnacles. You’ll then head into the town of Avanos for lunch. Afterwards comes the Zelve Open Air Museum, a warren of carved caves and old rock churches that tells the story of the region’s early monastic life. Late in the day, before you check in, you’ll stop at the natural fortress of Uchisar for the view — note that you can’t go inside the castle itself.
Once the tour wraps up you’ll be taken to your cave hotel to settle in. If you fancy it, there’s the option to head out for a traditional Turkish Night show with dinner in the evening.

Day 2: South Cappadocia Tour and Overnight Coach to Pamukkale
If you’re keen, you can start the day with a hot air balloon flight over the valleys at first light — it’s an optional extra you’ll need to book and pay for separately. Otherwise, take breakfast at the hotel before your guide collects you and runs through the plan for the day.
You’ll set off at the Red Valley, where the rock-cut churches are the draw, and walk roughly 5 km through the Rose Valley. Next is Cavusin Village, well known for its old houses and the churches once used by Christian clergy. Lunch falls around midday, and afterwards you’ll drive out to Pigeon Valley. The afternoon takes you underground to either the Kaymakli Underground City or the Ozkonak Underground City, where early Christians sheltered and lived out of sight.
In the evening you’ll board a non-smoking, air-conditioned intercity coach for the overnight run to Pamukkale. It’s about a 10-hour journey with three stops along the way for breaks.

Day 3: Pamukkale and Hierapolis Tour and Flight back to Istanbul
You’ll reach the Denizli bus station early in the morning and be taken to a 2-star hotel in Pamukkale to freshen up and have breakfast. There’s no room stay — it’s simply a chance to wash off the overnight journey. Once you’ve regrouped in the lobby, you’ll meet your licensed guide and the rest of the group to begin the day.
First stop is Karahayit and its rust-red spring waters, then you’ll drive across to the ancient city of Hierapolis. There’s a lot to take in here: the Necropolis, the Roman Baths, the Domitian Gate, the Latrina, the old oil factory, Frontinus Street, the Agora, the Byzantine Gate, the Triton Fountain, the Cathedral, the Temple of Apollo, the Plutonium and the Theatre, along with the Cleopatra Antique Pools. You’ll have around an hour of free time to wander and take photos; if you like, you can swim in the antique pools during this break at your own cost.
Later you’ll meet your guide again to walk the Pamukkale Travertines — the white terraces the Turks call the Cotton Castle, where warm mineral water spills down from top to bottom. You’ll walk them barefoot, so leave your shoes and socks at the edge. Lunch follows at a local restaurant, and then a short 30-minute stop at an onyx factory. From there you’ll be driven to Denizli or Izmir airport for your evening flight back to Istanbul, where our service ends on arrival.

I had the best time on my tour to Cappadocia and Pamukkale with all istanbul tours. It was my first time with a tour but it was more than I expected. We saw so many places Goreme Open Air Museum, Uchisar Castle in Cappadocia and Kaymaklı Underground City.

What inspires us was the seamless hand off from one tour guide to the other between locations. On an overnight trip between Cappadocia and pammakule we were de-boarded on a roadside. Within 5 minutes at 5am there was a shuttle to pick us up. Amazing coordination

What would have been better? We would have preferred a flight from Cappadocia to pammakule rather than an overnight bus.
After the tour was over at Cappadocia at 5pm we were left to stand in cold till the bus started at 8 pm. The bus company refused to let us sit at the office. Luckily found a guest house which we could rent for a few hours. This wouldn’t be a problem in summer but it was freezing cold in December
I’d suggest you pay the balance before starting the trip as there is a 4% charge for using any type of card and not sure if anyone would carry that much cash. The agent was understanding and allowed us to use a debit card without fees.
Pick up and drop off at Istanbul was perfect. One nation was available in WhatsApp for any queries.
