Your private guide collects you from your hotel on Istanbul’s European side before you travel to the port and board the ferry across the Sea of Marmara to Yalova. From there, continue by private air-conditioned vehicle to Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. On arrival, take time to stretch your legs as your guide introduces the city’s Ottoman past and its surviving landmarks.

Visit the Green Mosque (Yeşil Camii), known for its marble entrance arch and striking sapphire-coloured tiles beneath the central dome. A short walk brings you to the old Bursa Silk Market, where you visit Koza Han. Once used by silk traders supplying caftans to Ottoman sultans, the building is now a tea house and recalls Bursa’s role as the final stop on the Silk Road.

Lunch is served at a local café, with Turkish kebap or another traditional dish. Afterwards, ride the Bursa Cable Car towards the peak of Mt Olympos for wide views over Bursa and free time for photographs. If the cable car is not operating, your guide will take you to a comparable viewpoint near an old plane tree.     Very well organized Bursa day trip, a good lunch at a traditional Turkish restaurant in Bursa and a very knowledgeable guide. The views, also on the way from Istanbul are very nice.
