Overview

Free time follows, and if you wish you can swim among submerged marble columns in the Antique Pool at your own expense (bring a towel and swimsuit).

Itinerary

Full day at Pamukkale and Hierapolis from Kusadasi, Selcuk or Sirince

07:30 Your driver collects you from your hotel and brings you to the meeting point in Selcuk, where the rest of the group comes together. 08:30 The coach pulls out of Selcuk for the run inland to Pamukkale, roughly three hours on the road. About an hour and a half in, there’s a ten-minute stop to stretch your legs and use the restrooms.

11:45 You arrive and go straight to lunch, so nobody is walking the travertines on an empty stomach. 13:00 Your licensed guide takes over for the walking tour. First the Cotton Cliffs of Pamukkale — the white terraces built up over centuries by calcium-rich water, and one of the genuine natural wonders of this part of the world. From there you continue into the ancient city of Hierapolis, where the guide walks you through the basilica, the theatre and the Roman Baths.

When the guided section finishes you’re free for a while to wander at your own pace. This is when many people take a dip in the Pamukkale Antique Pool, swimming among the fallen marble columns — entry is paid on the spot and isn’t part of the tour price, and you’ll need your own swimsuit and towel. Your guide will give you a clear meeting point and time before you scatter. 16:00 The coach heads back, dropping you at your hotel in Kusadasi, Selcuk or Sirince at around 19:00.

We had two extra days in Kusadasi and decided at the last minute we wanted to have a Pamukkale hot springs experience. We found good reviews for Gallipoli Tour and decided to reach out to see if we could book something. We sent an email and got an immediate response and arranged a Pamukkale day trip for the next morning. The guide and driver were nice and the Travertines and Hierapolis City Ruins were worth visiting. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend them!!

Pamukkale is beautiful, and the tour was very well and professionally organized from the pick up to the drop off at the hotel, we enjoyed our time at the sites. Also, the food at the local Turkish restaurant was amazing. I highly recommend this tour company.
